Biomet Ambiente is part of the Renergia Group and plays a central role in the production of biomethane from the organic fraction of municipal solid waste (OFMSW). At its San Rocco al Porto (LO) plant, the company processes around 40,000 tons of organic waste per year through anaerobic digestion, generating biogas that is upgraded to biomethane and fed into the national grid. The process also enables the recovery of valuable by-products: the solid digestate is turned into agricultural compost, while the residual water is purified through advanced chemical, physical, and biological treatments for safe reuse. Biomet Ambiente represents the first stage of a fully integrated circular economy model, supplying the biomethane that Biomet GNL later liquefies and distributes as bio-LNG for sustainable heavy-duty transport.
